Face Lift
Face Lift in San Antonio, Texas at Diana Plastic Surgery
A face lift is also known as a rhytidectomy. The goal of a face lift is to improve visible signs of age, such as wrinkles and sagginess, in the face and neck area. A facelift cannot stop aging, nor can it turn back the clock. What it can do is help the face look its best and give a look of health and more youthful appearance. Dr. Diana performs facelifts in many different ways. He performs the “S” lift, midface lift, endoscopic-midface lift, neck lift, cheek lift, full face lift, deep plane lift, superficial plane lift and the weekend lift.
Who is a good candidate?
- Anyone who is good physical condition and does not smoke.
How It Is Done: During your consultation, Dr. Diana will be able to discuss with you the length and pattern that will be used for the incision. There are 3 types of face lifts:
- Traditional face lift- Starts at your temple and ends at your lower scalp. Fat from your face and neck is redistributed or sculpted along with your underlying tissue. The muscles may also be lifted. The skin is re-draped or pulled over the lifted contours of your face and the extra skin is taken off.
- Limited Face lift- is the same idea as a traditional lift, only it uses smaller incisions around the temple, continuing around the ear. Sometimes it is combined with incisions in the lower eye lid or under the upper lip.
- Neck Lift- loose neck skin or chin/jowl is solved by a neck lift with incisions made in front of the ear lobe and wrapped around behind the ear ending at the lower scalp.
Recovery: Patients return to work in a few days to a week. The incisions will diminish over time, and are well covered or hidden within your hair or natural contours of your face.
