How It Is Done: The procedure consists of repairing the hernias or muscle separation (the "bulge") when present without any significant skin excess. This procedure is designed for women who have experienced a change in appearance after pregnancy but have little stretch marks, no or little fat excess and good skin tone. Virtually no tissue is removed with this technique, unless it is combined with liposuction of the abdomen. 

A small incision is performed in the upper pubic hair and the muscles under the skin are identified up to the area above the belly button. The separation in those muscles is then corrected with sutures to obtain a flat tummy surface.

Recovery: Patients typically return to work within a few days to a week.
